Gen. Durrani "Ex-Chief Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI)" Accused Of Conspiring For "RAW" Against Pakistan

The Ministry of Defense has contradicted a request looking for expulsion of previous Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief general resigned Lt Gen Asad Durrani's name from the Exit Control List (ECL), saying he had been "cooperating with threatening components" including Indian intelligence organization RAW since 2008 and was probably going to be associated with future publications against the interest of Pakistan.
Durrani wound up in steaming hot water after co-writing a book, named The Spy Chronicles: RAW, ISI and the Illusion of Peace, with Amarjit Singh Dulat, the previous top of India's Research and Analysis Wing spy office, in 2018.
After the book's distribution, the Military Intelligence (MI) had kept in touch with the inside service to put Durrani's name on the ECL and the equivalent was done in May 2018. The previous spymaster challenged the move in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in 2019.
In its para-wise remarks submitted because of Durrani's request in the IHC on Wednesday, the intelligence service said the previous ISI boss' name was put on the restricted travel backlog for "his association in enemy of state exercises".
It said an examination of the book The Spy Chronicles uncovered that it contained "certain substance concerning [the] public security of Pakistan, being in negation of the arrangements of the Official Secrets Acts, 1923".

As per the service's answer, Rule 2(c) of the Exit from Pakistan (Control) Rules, 2010, approved the central government to preclude an individual from leaving Pakistan for an unfamiliar objective if the said individual is associated with "'demonstrations of psychological warfare or its connivance', 'intolerable wrongdoings' and 'undermining public security'".
In addition, it said Articles 15 and 19 of the Constitution obviously expressed that the "opportunity of development and the right to speak freely of discourse are dependent upon any sensible limitations forced by [the] law in the public interest and honesty, security or guard of Pakistan".
It said Durrani's name couldn't be taken out from ECL "at this stage" since requests being directed against him were being settled. It said the previous ISI boss needed to travel abroad with the aim of partaking in global gatherings, discussions and talks which will have "genuine public security suggestions as apparent from the as of late distributed book 'Honor Among Spies'" — which was likewise created by Durrani and distributed "through Indian distributers/RAW upheld components", as per the guard service.

The service said after Durrani's book was assessed from a "security viewpoint", it was affirmed by the Court of Inquiry that it contained substance "which were against the interests of Pakistan".
It declared that no key right of the applicant had been encroached by the situation of his name on the restricted travel backlog, saying: "If a resident, which incorporates an individual performing function[s] regarding the issues of the state, doesn't submit to the sacred orders, at that point he isn't playing out his commitment forced by the Constitution."
Durrani's request is relied upon to be taken up again by the IHC in the second seven day stretch of February.
In February 2019, a representative for the Pakistan Army had declared that Durrani had been seen as blameworthy of disregarding the military's set of accepted rules and a court of request was requested against him for composing the book. A military court in this manner stripped him of his annuity and other post-retirement benefits.
Durrani at that point tested that request under the watchful eye of the Lahore High Court. In October 2020, Durrani educated the LHC that the public authority had reestablished his annuity.
