Islamabad: On the 2nd March during Parliament session, governing Party blamed judiciary for not letting government to bring reforms in different institution, to strengthen the democracy. Judges and some of their allies in the establishment are not letting government to perform its duty properly.
Government Representative Choudary M Birjees Tahir, who is the Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan during the session present the issue in front of parliament. He said the government observed the need of some reforms in the Judiciary and some other Institutions but it is not letting to do so.
The public trial of the setting Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef and his family in Panama controversy, then Disqualified for not being truthful and trustworthy has caused extreme tension and stress between PML-Nawaz and the Judiciary. That’s not end here recently Supreme Court has declared Nawaz Shareef is ineligible for being the president of the any political party, this decision has added fuel to fire in the relations between ruling party and other institutions.
The discussion in the Parliament is raised just after a month of the meeting of PML-N Parliamentary body, in which they decided to raise the interests and activism of the Judiciary and establishment in Parliamentary activities, moreover the attitude of judges towards democracy’s survival.
Minister Birjees said in past President had the right to appoint the judges which had been taken away. Later on parliamentary body has the power to appoint the judges under 18th Constitutional amendment but own it has been made impossible for Parliament, Parliament should be given some respect Minister added.
PML-N senior leader Mushahidullah Khan said “All the Institutions shouldn’t do interruption in the activities of other institutions to avoid stress between institutions, every institution should work in its own jurisdiction. He added that our government is accused of being failed in governing but in reality we haven’t let to govern.”
There are few months left in government’s tenure to end but still the game of balmes is continue between government, opposition and institutions. Opposition is blaming government for raising prices of petroleum products, in response during the same session Minister for Finance in justification said OGRA demanded 31 % increase in prices but government increased only 9% in prices.
